Electromagnetic radiation (EMF) assessment
Our comprehensive Electromagnetic Radiation Assessment ensures that your living or working environment is safe from harmful radiation. We measure all four types of electromagnetic radiation: electric fields, magnetic fields, dirty electricity, and radiofrequency/microwave radiation. Using specialized equipment, we evaluate the radiation levels in the spaces where you spend the most time, identify potential sources, and provide detailed recommendations for mitigation. Our goal is to create a healthier environment for you and your loved ones.

The assessment takes between 45-90 minutes per room, depending on the size of the area, the findings, and the effort needed to identify potential sources of radiation.. We provide explanation of the issues as we go, and a detailed written report is provided after the assessment.

What happens in an EMF assessment?
When you book an electromagnetic radiation assessment with us, we ensure a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of your space to identify potential radiation hazards. Here's what you can expect during the assessment process:

Duration

An assessment typically takes 45-90 minutes per room or space, depending on the size of the area, the findings, and the effort needed to identify potential sources of radiation.

Which spaces should be measured?

We focus on spaces where inhabitants spend most of their time, such as bedrooms, living rooms, or offices. Since sleep is vital for our health and wellbeing, the bedroom is often a primary focus.

Preparation

Before the assessment, we ask our customers to fill out a pre-assessment form. This form includes basic questions about the space to be assessed and the health status and possible symptoms of the inhabitants. This helps us to prepare for the assessment, and possible symptoms can tell us also about the space, and where to focus the most. The health status of the inhabitants also influences how we interpret the findings. For the most accurate assessment, it is beneficial for the inhabitant to be present during the assessment to answer questions about electrical appliances, their usage, any possible issues, and to help turn devices / fuses on and off to identify radiation sources.

The Assessment Process

While some types of radiation might be more widely recognized, it is crucial to measure all four types: radiofrequency/microwave radiation, dirty electricity, electric fields, and magnetic fields. Each type of radiation can have significant health effects, and thorough measurement ensures a complete understanding of the radiation environment in your space. Ignoring any type could lead to missing critical information and a false sense of safety.

To quickly summarize the types of radiation that we measure:

- Electric fields radiate from all powerlines, transformers, electric panels, wiring & electric appliances, even if the appliances themselves are turned off.
- Magnetic fields radiate from the same sources as electric fields, but only if current is drawn (the appliance is turned on / electricity moves in the cables).
- Dirty electricity also moves in the cables & appliances, but in higher frequencies, and is caused by any alterations/interferences to the basic 60Hz electricity, for example, computer/phone chargers, inverters, dimmer switches, LED & fluorescent lighting. Dirty electricity is also harmful to the electrical appliances.
- Radiofrequency / microwave radiation comes from all wireless & smart devices, such as cell phones, tablets, Wi-Fi, cell phone towers, microwave ovens etc.

Each type of radiation is measured with a specialized meter(s) in detail, both in terms of quantity and potential sources. This requires multiple measurements at various locations, as well as measurements with specific appliances or fuses turned on and off. We can also measure body voltage, which requires the inhabitant's participation and indicates how much electric field exposure affects their body, particularly in locations where they spend a lot of time, like in bed or at a desk.

During and after the assessment, we provide verbal updates on our findings. Within 1-2 days, we deliver a detailed written report that outlines all findings, provides explanations, and includes recommended actions and products for mitigation. Customers can also hire us to help plan and implement mitigation actions, coordinate with electricians, and provide ongoing guidance.
